M&S Suspends Online Orders Following Cyberattack

Marks and Spencer has temporarily paused online orders for its clothing and home ranges following a cybersecurity incident impacting a critical third-party logistics partner.

The disruption stemmed from an issue affecting a major distribution centre located in Bradford, UK. This facility, managed by the logistics provider GXO Logistics, is essential for processing and shipping Marks and Spencer’s online clothing and home deliveries.

Marks and Spencer confirmed that the incident originated with their third-party provider and did not affect M&S’s internal systems. The company stated it is working closely with the partner to resolve the situation quickly and minimise impact on customers.

Customers attempting to place new orders through the Marks and Spencer website or app for these categories found the service unavailable. The retailer has issued an apology for the inconvenience caused by the temporary halt in online order processing.

Physical stores and Marks and Spencer Food operations are not believed to be affected by this incident, which is focused on the online delivery pipeline managed by the specific distribution partner.
